Dr Theonie du Plessis

Theonie is a psychiatrist and she obtained her degrees through the University of Stellenbosch. She graduated as a medical doctor in 1993 and completed her internship in Windhoek after which she worked as a general practitioner and an advisor to medical aids. After obtaining her specialist registration as a psychiatrist in 2003 she became a fellow of the South African College of Psychiatrists and spent some time in the UK as a consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist. She has been in private practice in the northern suburbs for 15 years. She worked at Red Cross Children’s Hospital’s Child and Family Psychiatry Unit and she completed her subspecialist training in child and adolescent psychiatry at the Division of Child and Adolescent psychiatry at Tygerberg.
